Monólogos para speaking Escuela Oficial de Idiomas, niveles C1 y C2

Hoy os propongo unos cuantos temas para los monólogos del speaking de la Escuela Oficial de Idiomas, para los niveles C1 y C2. Para todos aquellos que estéis preparando el examen de la EOI y estáis ya en estos niveles tan altos, deciros que debéis prepararos temas para el monólogo más complicados. Es muy importante, cuando estéis haciendo vuestro examen, que seáis capaces de defender cualquier tema que os pueda salir, y para ello os aconsejo que os preparéis distintos temas que penséis que pudieran salir. Pueden ser temas de actualidad, temas que estén de moda, temas tradicionales que suelen aparecer siempre en los exámenes, o cualquier otra cosa. Pensad que estáis ya en niveles muy avanzados y además del nivel lingüístico que utilicéis, las ideas también juegan un papel importante, ¿os imagináis que os sale un tema del que no sabéis qué hablar? Para que esto no sucede, como os digo, preparad temas, leed noticias, estad al día de la actualidad, aprended nuevo vocabulario, en definitiva,¡ preparaos para vuestro examen y bien! Para facilitaros la tarea, os propongo hoy unos monólogos con posibles ideas. Vamos allá 🙂

1. POLITICS

• Brexit. Advantges and disadvantages for both British people and Europeans. Why do you think some British are in favor of leaving Europe? Possible consequences.
• The role of the European Union. Positive and negative points. European laws and immigration. Refugees.
• New parties and political leaders like Podemos, UKIP, Trump, Marine Le Pen. Why do they enter into the system? How are citizens reacting to them? Populism?
• Brexit Referendum, Scottish Independence Referendum and Catalan Independence Referendum. Similarities and differences.
• The political system in the future. Predictions for the future and your desires.

2. SPORT, A CHALLENGE OR AN OBSESSION?

• Body building, a way of making a living?
• The use of anabolic steroids to work out your muscles.
• Body Worship. Possible dangers?
• Doing sport as a way of being healthy and keeping fit or an obsession with looking pretty?
• Differences between men and women regarding sport.
• New therapies such as acupuncture, osteopathy, herbal medicine, etc.
• Healers, reliable or a scam?
• Yoga, Tai Chi, religious retreats, Chi Kung, etc. A temporary trend or new ways to relieve pains and deal with stress and busy lifestyles?

3. IMMIGRATION

• Investment in developing countries – no need to migrate if you can live well.
• More walls/fences to stop illegal immigration? Trump’s Mexico wall. Your opinion.
• Higher fences and harder punishments do not prevent immigrants from crossing, reality proves them wrong.
• Migrant boats landing on Spanish shores.
• Asylum seekers. Europe’s response.
• Governments, turning a blind eye to it?

4. ECOTURISM

• Effects on the environment.
• Benefits for local communities.
• Positive and negative effects. It generates money, too many tourists.
• Dangers for eco-tourists.
• Good way to boost  economy in rural areas?

5. HUMOUR AND LAUGHTER

• Different types of laughter: giggle nervously, belly laughter, false laughter.
• Laughter is contagious.
• Laughing at inappropriate times. Negative consequences?
• Laughter therapy. A possible solution to stress and pain?
• Laughing at yourself, good or bad?
• Humour, different types. Black humour, parody, jokes, witty humour, absurd humour, etc,
• Humour on the media (socialnetworking sites, magazines and newspapers). Where’s the limit?
• Monologuists and comedians. Traditional and new ones. Mr. Bean, Monty Python, Chiquito de la Calzada, Dani Rovira, etc. 

6. CONSUMERISM

• Advantages and disadvantages of living in a global world.
• Global brands
• Foreign restaurants vs local restaurants.
• Free trade vs. protectionism.
• Cultures have become very Americanised.
• More multinational corporations and fewer local business.
• Amazon and its power worldwide.
• Freedom of movement for workers. Brain drain of talented people.
• Sweatshops in developing countries to make goods for developed countries.

7. URBANISATION

• People going to cities to live.
• Overcrowded cities vs. rural population drift.
• Urban sprawl.
• Building sustainable cities.
• High-rise buildings, a possible solution to overcrowing?
• Traffic congestion in big cities. Effect on the environment. Commuting. Public transport.
• Shanty towns and no-go areas.

8. INVESTMENT

• Crowdfunding, the alternative to bank loans?
• Advantages and disadvantages.
• Tradicional donation vs crowdfunding.
• The economic crash and refusal to authorize credits. Impossibility to set up businesses.
• Online platforms to make projects public. Kickstarter, Indiegogo, RocketHub, GoFundMe, etc.
