Make waves
“Make waves” means “causar problemas”, “meter cizaña”.
Example: “I thought of my husband, tried to imagine him writing letters, campaigning, threatening. It did not seem possible. The man I had met that morning seemed humble, deferential. Not weak, exactly, but accepting. He did not seem like the kind of person to make waves”.
(Example taken from a novel, Before I go to sleep, by S.J. Watson)
